A plain-language guide to registering a company
Private Limited, OPC or LLP?
A Private Limited Company suits founders who plan to raise investment or bring in partners as shareholders. A One Person Company gives a single owner limited liability without needing a second director. An LLP suits professionals and small partnerships that want limited liability with fewer annual filings. The right choice depends on your plans for the next few years, not just today.
Getting your name approved
The name should be unique, should not resemble an existing company or registered trademark, and should reflect your business. We check availability before applying, which saves a rejected application and lost days.
Digital signatures and director IDs
Every director needs a Digital Signature Certificate to sign forms online. A Director Identification Number is allotted during incorporation. Both are tied to your PAN and Aadhaar details, so names must match exactly.
The incorporation forms
Companies are incorporated through an integrated online form that also applies for PAN and TAN, and can cover other registrations at the same time. We prepare the memorandum and articles in language that suits your business rather than copying a generic template.
Your first year after incorporation
Open a current account, appoint the first auditor within the time allowed, and file the declaration for commencement of business. Annual returns and financial statements follow at year end. We hand you a checklist with dates so nothing slips.
